Welcome from the President

Nigel MercerI am very much looking forward to welcoming you to Bristol. I first came to the city as a medical student in 1975 and much has changed in both the city and me in 41 years. We have a very exciting scientific programme with a number of international speakers of repute. In particular, we are honoured that the American Society of Plastic Surgeons is going to be our Guest Nation and Dr David Song MD, their President, will be presenting to us. I am also delighted to welcome back to Bristol Professor David David of Adelaide, who will be presenting the John Potter Lecture on his enormous experience in cleft and craniofacial surgery.

Bristol is a major UK tourist destination with good rail, road and airlines and there really is something for the entire family to do, so please bring your family and friends and perhaps stay for the weekend as well. I am sure you will find lots to do and I am always willing to give guided tours of the historic city of Bristol!

Nigel Mercer
President
